Maatiam is an exciting young company whose vision is to balance consumption with philanthropy. Maatiam enables consumers to donate to nonprofits like you at no cost to them, or to you.

When consumers shop through Maatiam's network of retailers, Maatiam is paid a commission. Maatiam passes through the listed commission to the nonprofit they choose.

The amount of donation depends on number of your supporters that use Maatiam. Your office supplies and travel spending can also generate donations with Maatiam. Use our simple Nonprofit Donation Estimator to find out how much you can raise.

You can register your nonprofit and see online reports on donations, checks, and list of opt-in supporters. Administrators of registered nonprofits can view online report here.

No. There is no cost for nonprofits, and no cost to supporters.

Outside the listed donation percentages, Maatiam retains a smaller portion (typically 1/3) of retailer commissions to fund our development, operation, and growth. For example, Maatiam donates 7% and retains 3% of the total 10% commission received from Drugstore.com.

Maatiam mail out checks quarterly approximately 60 days after the end of each quarter. This wait period is required to clear purchases, returns, refunds, and payments from our retail partners. There is a minimum of $50 for each check. Donations totaling less than $50 will roll over to the next quarter and so on until $50 is accured.

Maatiam's contributions are designated as Indirect Public Support, on Line 1c, Part I of Form 990.

Maatiam has partnered with GuideStar to enable over 800,000 501(c)3 nonprofits to benefit from our program automatically.

Maatiam's charity search relies on the GuideStar database that provides comprehensive information about nonprofits.

GuideStar's mission is to help improve the effectiveness of the nonprofit sector through the collection and presentation of exhaustive information about nonprofits. All nonprofits listed with GuideStar are formally registered with the IRS or have proven they meet all IRS criteria for exempt organizations. Maatiam partners with GuideStar so that you can be certain that the organization you've selected for your generosity is a legitimate nonprofit. Data is collected directly from the charities and from the IRS Business Master File, IRS Forms 990, and 990s EZ.

Newly formed 501(c)3 nonprofits, non 501(c)3 nonprofits, and nonprofits opted out of GuideStar web search are not listed in our directory.
